To safely light incense sticks, hold the incense stick by its uncoated end and use a lighter or matches to ignite the coated end. Gently blow out the flame after a few seconds, allowing the incense stick to smoulder and release its fragrant smoke. Place the stick into an incense ash catcher/fire-safe dish.
